Sara Ramirez
Sara Ramirez has been a Mexican American actor, performer and songwriter for a number of years. Her mother raised her in the USA, where she faced several racial stereotypes, which made her feel like a non-person. Her confidence began to grow during the 9th grade, when she entered a school audition. She received a lot of praise by the judges for her vocal ability. The event not only helped the confidence of her, but also altered her goals in life. In the year 22 she received her degree from the Julliard School of New York. In 1993 she made her Broadway debut with Paul Simon's The Capeman. Her first film was You've Got Mail. In the Broadway version of the original show Spamalot she portrayed the Lady of The Lake and won both the Tony Award as well as critical praise. In the year following, she joined the ABC show Grey's Anatomy as Dr. Callie Torres and gained wider recognition for it. As a well-known singer, she has also released both an album and a musical. She's also an activist who is a tireless advocate to protect LGBT rights.
